UNDERWATER III (BAJO EL AGUA III)

Underwater III transforms the act of swimming into an almost dreamlike state of suspension. Enclosed within a geometric frame yet seemingly untouched by it, the figure floats horizontally through space, as though an invisible current were carrying the body beyond the physical boundaries of the sculpture.

The relaxed posture and elongated limbs convey effortless movement rather than athletic force. The surrounding structure creates a compelling tension between containment and freedom: the body exists within defined limits, yet appears completely liberated from gravity.

The green-blue patina evokes the shifting depths and reflections of water, while the nearly invisible suspension reinforces the illusion of weightlessness. Here, swimming becomes something more profound — a state in which movement slows, gravity disappears, and the outside world falls away.

Suspended in silence, the body does not simply move through water. It becomes part of it.
