UNDERWATER II (BAJO EL AGUA II)

Underwater II captures the exhilarating instant of surrendering to water. With arms reaching upward and the body suspended horizontally, the figure appears to rise, dive or simply drift — freed from the familiar rules of gravity.

The open gesture conveys both physical energy and emotional release. Its richly textured green-blue patina evokes the changing colours of water, while the extended limbs create a sense of continuous movement, as though the surrounding current were carrying the body beyond the limits of the sculpture itself.

Where Underwater I suggests quiet suspension and introspection, Underwater II expresses something more expansive: the joy of weightlessness, the freedom of letting go, and the sensation of becoming one with the water.
