UNDERWATER I (BAJO EL AGUA I)

Suspended between movement and stillness, Underwater I captures the human body surrendered to the weightless freedom of water. The elongated figure seems to drift effortlessly through an invisible current, its open posture and trailing limbs suggesting a moment in which gravity has ceased to exist.

The textured green-blue patina evokes the shifting tones of the underwater world, reinforcing the sensation that body and environment are becoming one. There is no visible destination and no resistance — only the quiet rhythm of movement, carried forward by an unseen force.

More than a representation of swimming, the sculpture explores freedom, surrender, and the beauty of letting go. The athlete no longer fights against gravity or time: the body floats, and movement becomes pure freedom.
