WHEN THE METALLIC BODY OF THE METEORITE BECOMES A MANTLE

In a fleeting moment, perhaps as a result of a great impact, under the relentless pull of gravity, this small metallic body was forced to embark on the path that would define its destiny: to become a meteorite. An inhabitant of another world, culminating, beneath the dome of night, in a luminous and fleeting trail across the Earth's sky.

The interest of something so fragmented—after all, it is a "wounded" or mutilated body—lies in its capacity to shed light on the formation of the Solar System, as it has remained unaltered in its composition since the beginning. A kind of Hermes, a messenger of the gods. A traveler connecting outer space with Earth, a silent narrative of an improvised trajectory. A distant "brother" of the Perseids. This otherworld, crisscrossed by a remote space from the core of a larger, now-extinct body in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, never imagined itself reduced to bones, shedding its truths upon what now becomes home.

The meteorite, like a shimmering corpus to be treasured, within which lie the echoes of a dormant memory.
