ICE ARENA

Ice Arena transforms the skating rink into a vibrant theatre of everyday human movement. Scattered across the pale expanse of ice, individual figures glide, hesitate, balance, interact, and occasionally appear on the verge of losing control, each absorbed in their own small story.

Rather than celebrating elite athletic performance, the work explores the more universal experience of movement, balance and human connection through sport. Children and adults, couples and solitary skaters coexist within the same arena, creating a playful choreography without an obvious beginning or end.

The artist’s elongated figures, expressive gestures and deliberately shifting proportions give the scene an almost dreamlike quality. Against the cool, nearly monochromatic surface of the ice, their earthy reds, blues, greens and ochres create a lively visual rhythm, while the blue shadows beneath their skates seem to anchor otherwise weightless bodies.

Seen from above, the rink becomes a kind of social landscape — a place where every person follows a different trajectory, yet all share the same surface.

Different paths, different rhythms, one ice like a choreography created simply by moving together.
