BLUE CONTROL

Blue Control explores the subtle relationship between power, discipline and connection at the heart of equestrian sport. Rider and horse occupy the same visual space, yet each retains a distinct presence: one guides, the other responds, creating a balance that depends as much on trust as on physical control.

Bold areas of turquoise and blue intersect with deep blacks, muted greens and soft pinks, breaking the figurative scene into dynamic planes of colour. The rider’s composed posture contrasts with the powerful profile of the horse, while the reins become the visual link between them — a fine line through which intention is transformed into movement.

The painting moves deliberately between figuration and abstraction. Rather than depicting speed itself, Blue Control captures the concentration required to direct it: energy contained, strength negotiated, and movement held momentarily in balance.
